The design of  Assessment Logic™ addresses the requirements of several campus constituencies. These needs were made know through numerous meetings of the software designer and various campus constituencies. The designer also drew upon her own years of experience teaching, experience serving on various campus committees including assessment committee and teacher education committee, and experiences serving as department chair and division chair.

Assessment Logic™ was designed to:

Accommodate the documentation of diverse types of assessment activities.

Allow institutions to utilize assessment activities that are already
        
taking place on campus.

Allow faculty to utilize assessment instruments already being
        
used by faculty in teaching courses.

Provide a centralized storage location for assessment related documents.

Store department goals, objectives, performance indicators, and
        
assessment points.
    •  
Store aggregate data about student performance.
    •  
Store student and department samples of assessment artifacts.
    •  
Store individual faculty reflections about and responses to assessment data.
    •  
Store departmental reflections about and responses to assessment data.
